In grades 9 - 12, students utilize the prior knowledge and skill sets developed in grades K - 8 to further explore the four central disciplines of earth science, biology, chemistry, and physics. Through the integration of learned concepts and developed investigative and problem-solving skills, students develop a comprehensive understanding of science and how it relates to their everyday lives. Grades 9 - 12 sciences are laboratory-based courses.

The major focus is placed upon the understanding of science as an active process. Students are actively involved in scientific research while learning the methods and language that enable them to effectively analyze and communicate their observations. While there are four core science subjects in the high school curriculum, the typical sequence may deviate based upon individualized educational goals.
